Course Outline
Key Settings: Learn the key settings that enhance your chats. Give ChatGPT background info about your profession and current projects. Rename and share chats. Create “projects” to organize your chats.
Visualizations: Use ChatGPT output to create:
- organizational diagrams
- Gantt charts
- flowcharts
- mind maps
Master Prompt Engineering: Learn best practices to craft precise and effective prompts. Learn how to craft “meta prompts” and when to use them.
Markdown: the Language of AI: Chatbots work in text, but without some type of text formatting, there’s no easy way to differentiate headings from subheadings or bullets. Learn how to input and output “markdown” to better prompt your chatbot.
Connectors and Apps: Integrate apps like Canva, Figma, Asana, Google Contacts, Gmail, Github, Hubspot, and more right into your chats.
Vibe Coding: ChatGPT has a little-known tool called “Canvas” that allows you to edit text in parallel with the chatbot. It also offers a preview mode where it can display HTML/CSS and execute JavaScript. For example, with a single prompt, you can build this Asteroids game.
Integrate with Google Sheets & Excel: Seamlessly connect ChatGPT with spreadsheets and then apply a single query to multiple rows of data to retrieve multiple AI-generated answers from ChatGPT, en masse.
Integrate with Make.com and Zapier Automations: Take input from events in one app (e.g., new email arrival), have ChatGPT analyze it (e.g., “extract action items from this email”) and then use Make or Zapier to convey that answer to another app (e.g., notify salespeople on Slack).
Unlock Other Apps with an API Kes: Learn where to get your API key from OpenAI. Get a free API key from OpenRouter and plug it in to different AI services.

Requirements
Prerequisites: You will need an existing free OpenAI account for ChatGPT access. You should use a laptop or desktop, not a smartphone or tablet, during class. Multiple screens is recommended.
Audience: Anyone who has played with ChatGPT but wants to use it more effectively. ChatGPT training is not for people who have never used it before.
Format: Live, instructor-led class with hands-on exercises. Conducted over Zoom.
